Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts represents a defining moment in Central Florida`s history. The Center will be located in downtown Orlando on a site that is more than nine acres in size. When the doors open in the fall of 2014 it will become a destination to a variety of mixed use developments, transforming this area into a vibrant new hub for the arts and commerce in the city center which will include a variety of culture, commerce, retail, hospitality and residential facilities. The venue itself will include two grand performance theaters, a community theater, outdoor plaza and performance space, rehearsal rooms, banquet space, administrative offices and an educational facility.

Florida International Piano Competition

The Florida International Piano Competition has attracted some of the world’s most talented, professional pianists to the Central Florida community. Here they are given an extraordinary opportunity to compete not only for cash prizes, but also be provided with an avenue to help advance their careers. Orlando Ballet

Today – Orlando Ballet is Central Florida’s only fully residential professional ballet company and performs its annual season at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre. The Company includes not only dancers for the United States, but also Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Romania and the Ukraine. Orlando Ballet School is home to over 1,250 students in four locations, and has trained some of the brightest young talent in the world of dance today. Graduates have gone on to dance professionally with Orlando Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, The Royal Danish Ballet and the Hamburg Ballet as well other companies in major US cities.
